Okay, Foundation...! This is a tricky one when it comes to makeup. A lot of people never have the right foundation match because it is so hard to find. There are thousands of beauty brands that have various shades that are the same but with different undertones. When it comes to finding your shade the first step is to find out what your undertone is.
What is your undertone?
Pink or Rose: Veins appear blue or purple in natural light. Silver jewelry looks best on you. The skin has a slight pink, blue, or cool appearance.
Yellow or Golden: Veins appear green or olive in natural light. Gold Jewelry looks best on you. The skin has slight yellow or warm appearance.
Neutral: Veins appear blue-green in natural light. Both gold and silver jewelry looks good on you! The skin has an equal balance of warm and cool.
Okay so, once you have figured out your undertone your choices are now narrowed down. The next step is finding your skin tone. There are typically six categories when deciding which one you fit into. They are fair, light, medium, medium-dark, dark, and deep-dark. Most websites online have the option where you can select your undertone and skin tone category and it will generate a few select foundations they feel is your best match. Some even allow you to upload a picture of your skin or a celebrity that is closest to your skin.
Or of course, you could always go into your local Sephora or Ulta and get shade matched. But being the current situation with the pandemic it is unlikely anyone can do this.
Hopefully, I have provided some useful information that will help you select your TRUE match of foundation.
