Are you doing a PROPER skin care routine?

When it comes to skincare, we must remember our makeup is only going to look as good as our skin does. If you don't take care of your skin and put makeup on every day, your skin most likely hates you! It needs to be properly taken care of for your skin to not be affected. I have tried so many products on the market until I finally found the routine that works for me. It does take time and a lot of adjustments but, I promise, once you find what you are looking for, it will be worth it. Keep in mind for you to see results you need to consistently maintain the same routine for at least three months.

I am going to share with you guys my morning and night routine. I prefer to keep at least two of the products the same in both routines. I also like to limit the number of products being used to less than ten because you don't want to overwhelm your skin.

Disclaimer: By the way I have combination skin so just because you have to same skin type as someone, doesn't mean the same routine is going to work for the both of you. Everyone's routine is unique just as their skin is.

In the morning, I start with a cleanser or face wash. Next, I apply a facial toner. Third I apply the prescription lotion that I got prescribed from my doctor. Lastly, I apply one of my moisturizers. I will also apply my makeup as usual, starting with primer first.

Morning Products-

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser for Normal to Dry Skin.

Dickinson's Hydrating Toner with Rosewater

Mario Badescu Ginseng Moist Cream

Elf Daily Hydration Moisturizer

At night after I remove all my makeup, I wash my face with the same cleanser in the shower. Next, I apply the same toner I use in the morning. Third, I apply a prescribed cream to the necessary spots sparingly.

Night Products-

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser for Normal to Dry Skin.

Dickinson's Hydrating Toner with Rosewater

Tretinoin Cream, USP 0.025%

Extras for nighttime routine:

  • If needed, I will apply my favorite spot treatment which is, the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. This can be bought in a glass or plastic bottle. It is recommend to not shake the bottle for best results. This product is life changing for those pimples filed with puss. It dries them out overnight!

  • When I feel like my skin needs extra treatment I use a face mask before applying my toner but after washing my face. I like to use any of the Freeman face masks. They sell these at Walmart, Ulta, and even Five Below. I pretty much have all of them and, they all have a different purpose so, be sure to read the claims before purchasing one.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

Freeman Face Masks

- Sweat Tea & Lemon Peel-Off Clay Mask: I love any mask that peels off because it's so satisfying to take off but, this one in particular dries pretty quickly.

- Glacier water & Pink Peony Gel Cream Mask: This one can be left on over night!

- Cucumber & Pink Salt Clay Mask: This one is a good exfoliating mask!

- Watermelon & Aloe Cooling Gel Mask: This one is perfect if you got sunburnt of your face!

Other items needed: I use a mix of either cotton balls or pads, depending on what part I am doing in my routine. I prefer to use cotton pads or rounds because it covers more areas of my skin. I also use Q-tips when I apply my drying lotion spot treatment.

Hopefully, by sharing my routine and tips & tricks, you learned something about skincare. I will be doing more blogs in the future, continuing certain aspects of applying skincare products. Thanks for tuning in!

Always,

Cianni Vera
